Dear members,
Again I would like to thank you for your support in making OurRaceCar.com successful! As you may have noticed we recently began a partnership with Winning Brands, manufactures of among other things Winning Colours Stain Remover (great for removing grease and grime, and its eco-responsible!) Having spoken to Winning Brands CEO Eric Lehner, as well as the Senior Vice President Lorne Kelly, I came away with a huge appreciation for their company and I look forward to a long future between us. It is our hope that this partnership will help to bring international recognition to both Winning Brands and OurRaceCar.com.
While I have your attention I would like to tell you about some of the recent developments here. Soon we will be welcoming Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup driver David Ritchert who will be gracing us with a regular blog about the auto racing industry and the difficulties of breaking into the business. For more information about Mr. Ritchert, check out his website: www.RitchertRacing.com. We have also been contacted with some potential options to finally get a car on the road. Once we have some concrete proposals on the table they’ll be posted for your consideration. Don’t forget, this is your site and it only works with your input. Happy New Year! I hope everybody is looking forward to a new season of racing. Personally I’m looking forward to this year’s Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, although with all the changes to Formula One this year it could be an interesting season, we’ll see if Lewis Hamilton has what it takes to squeak out another win. The other major uncertainty of the year is how the “economic downturn” will affect racing in general, and NASCAR, specifically with the current situation with the Big Three.
Speaking of the “economic downturn,” membership growth hasn’t been quite what was expected, however don’t worry yet, our estimated due date is still a long time away. Keep positive, keep inviting you’re friends, and remember as Larry Brown (one of our first members) said “If it doesn’t work I’m out $10. If it does I’ll be part of history.”
One Month Down!

Hello everybody, I just want to start by thanking all of you who supported us in the first month. I know how new concepts like this can seem risky and I'm glad that you believed in us enough to join this early. Don't forget to invite your friends and spread the word; remember this is your website.
First off let me just remind anybody interested in driving for us that I personally can not make you the driver! To become the driver you must be voted into the position! That goes with all other positions like the Team Manager, Crew Chief, and the Board of Directors. My best advice for all of you interested in those positions would be to join the site, invite your friends and become an active member. (And of course have useful experience!)
Secondly I would like to let everybody know about some recent developments: We have been contacted by a couple existing teams in lower level open wheel and sports car racing (don't want to give too much detail and possibly give them away) asking if we would be interested in taking them over. It is far to early to make any decisions, and I for one have my eye on much bigger nationally televised series, however its nice to know that this is a possibility for us. And speaking of televised, we have also been contacted by a web media provider about giving our members exclusive access to media content such as in-car cameras and training videos. We will be working with them over the next couple months to provide exclusive content once we have our members.
We will give you more information on both developments as they arise.
Week One

Hello everyone, and thank you for your interest in OurRaceCar.com. Our first week is over with mixed results. All though we have had 1000's of hits, actual membership is not as high as expected. There could be several reasons for this however we expect the most likely is because we are just too new! We thank all of you who had the confidence to join us in the first week and we look forward to hearing your opinions in the Forums.
On a separate note we would like to announce that we are working on building a Board of Directors. The Board will consist of 3 members from the site (and as usual Board members will be chosen by a vote). Board members will work with the President of the site and the Team manager to ensure that the interests of the Members are looked after. If you would like more information about the positions email us at questions@ourracecar.com with the subject head: Board of Directors.
